Microtubule inhibitors are tubulin-inhibiting agents that bind to tubulin and inhibit microtubule formation. They inhibit polymerization or depolymerization by interfering with self-assembly polymerization or disassembly of microtubules, affecting stability. They are used as anti-tumor or anti-malarial agents because they work at metaphase specifically and inhibit cell division.
